Painting & Drawing

Painting and drawing majors take most of their course work in drawing, painting, and printmaking. Additional courses in art history, design, photography, and sculpture extend the scope of the major. Students acquire the technical proficiency needed to begin to set up and define their personal directions. A central focus of the major is the study of drawings as a means to organize thoughts, feelings, and images.

Facilities include three separate studios for drawing, painting, and printmaking, storage racks for large paintings, platforms for life models, flood lamps, easels and taborets, a spray booth room, and a clean critique space.
