Social workers can assist with economic and community development by helping individuals realize the strengths they have within themselves as well as the strengths that exist within the communities in which they live. The 3rd Annual African American and Latino Social Work Symposium will bring together representatives from social service agencies, academia and businesses to address the issues that are impacting the African American and Latino communities through economic and community development.
Participants will:
- Hear a keynote address from Stedman Graham, Chairman, CEO of S. Graham & Associates.
- Receive valuable and practical information from a panel of experts from small business, academia, social service and community agencies that deal with community and economic development issues in the African American and Latino communities.
- Attend Stedman Graham book signing during lunch.
- Hear undergraduate and graduate student research/project presentations related to the symposium theme.
