International Students
GSLIS welcomes applications from international students. We are authorized by the US Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to issue SEVIS I-20s and accept F-1 students.

In addition to meeting the general requirements for admission, applicants who were educated outside of the United States and/or students requiring a visa (F-1) and I-20 form must demonstrate English language proficiency by scoring a minimum Internet-based score of 83, computer score of 220 or 560 paper score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). They must also show evidence of adequate financial support to qualify for a visa.
In addition to the tuition and fees charged at Dominican University, there are additional expenses for international students:
- Housing costs (whether room and board in university residence halls or off-campus housing) are the student's responsibility.
- Medical insurance must be obtained from an insurance agency, either in the home country or in the US. Such insurance may be purchased through the university.
- All fees, books and personal items are the students' responsibility during their education, including periods when the university is not in session.
- Support during such times when the university is not in session.
- Dominican University will assume no liability for any expense incurred by international students.

An applicant will be considered for admission when the school has received the following:
- A completed official application form accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $25.
- Two completed recommendation forms AND letters of recommendation attached. (Forms included in GSLIS application)
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
No credentials will be returned to the applicant.

The applicant’s complete file is reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which evaluates the applicant’s background, qualifications, and potential as a whole. Only complete application files will be reviewed, and no credentials will be returned to the applicant.
