Greek and Roman Art
ARTH 205 - Greek and Roman Art3 hours This course will examine the visual forms that were part of the foundations of Western Civilization. Focusing on classical painting, sculpture and architecture, this examination of the ancient world will cover Greek art from the Bronze Age through the 5th century BCE and the ancient Mediterranean world until the fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th century CE. The class will include discussion of literature, philosophy, and politics as well as conceptualizations of democracy, republic, and empire. This course will satisfy the fine arts core area requirement.
