The Challenge of Solidarity
LAS 290 - The Challenge of Solidarity3 hours Diversity and culture are givens in our lives, and the clash of many diverse cultures is the source of much injustice, violence, and even genocide in today’s world. How can we better understand diversity and culture all our lives long, while we see the gift of community in a climate of faith, hope, and love? Is it possible to bridge the divisions of group identity to create movements of solidarity for the common good? Theoretical models of social analysis, the biographies of great leaders in social change, and personal exchange with local practitioners of solidarity will all contribute to our study of diversity, culture, and community.
