JOINT DEGREES PROGRAMS:

MBA/MLIS with the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Dominican University

In this program, the School of Business offers a Master of Business Administration degree, combined with a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the Dominican University Graduate School of Library and Information Science. To be accepted into the combined program, the applicant must apply and be accepted to each program separately. Depending upon the applicant’s previous academic course work, between 57 and 75 semester hours are required to earn the degree. A minimum of 30 semester hours must be taken in library science, and a minimum of 27 semester hours must be taken in the MBA program depending on course waivers. The MBA program will accept six semester hours taken from courses in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science as electives in the MBA program. Reciprocally, the Graduate School of Library and Information Science will accept six semester hours taken from courses within the MBA program. Requirements for the combined degree must be completed within six years.

The combined MBA/MLIS degree program is not open to students who have already earned a master’s degree in the field of business administration or in library and information science. Students may apply for admission to the combined degree program at any time while they are enrolled in either program. No advance assurance can be given that such admission will be granted.
