Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Master of Business Administration degree program is designed to provide the
necessary skills and knowledge needed by business leaders today. This includes the ability to
analyze problems critically, to communicate clearly and to respond to business challenges with
integrity. The Brennan program offers students a global perspective in evaluating issues and an
understanding of corporate and personal social responsibility. In addition to the learning that
takes place in the classroom, a variety of extra-curricular programs throughout the year offer
opportunities to explore issues ranging from corporate governance to social entrepreneurship.
MBA Curriculum
A candidate for the MBA degree will normally need to complete 12 to 18 courses.
The total number depends on the candidate’s undergraduate coursework, academic performance and GMAT
test score, which may result in the waiver of up to six foundation courses. In addition to course
waivers, students who have successfully completed relevant course work at another accredited
graduate program may request to have two courses (maximum of six credits) transferred and applied
toward degree requirements.
The MBA program offers a choice of six areas of concentration: accounting,
finance, general management, health-care administration, international business administration, and
marketing. To earn a concentration in any of these areas other than general management, three
electives must be completed from the selected area as specified below. For a concentration in
general management, electives are chosen at large from all electives offered.
