“Computer science challenges the breadth and depth of one’s knowledge, ability, and
imagination. Because it’s not about learning or becoming an expert in one field; it’s about
designing the technological tools that enhance and support every human endeavor. Any given day a
practitioner of computer science may be helping to discover the contents of the human genome and
the next designing a system to manufacture the best pop top can. My reward as a teacher is to
watch my students begin to see the wonders they can accomplish and the dreams that lead to
creation.”
