Arvid C. Johnson is a Professor of Management at Dominican University. Prior to joining
Dominican as an Associate Professor of Management in September 2001, he was a principal in a
management consulting firm and worked with companies ranging in size from startups to
multi-million-dollar business units of Fortune 500 companies to describe, account for, explain, and
exploit the variability present in their manufacturing and service processes. Arvid also has over
15 years of engineering, manufacturing, and management experience in a variety of business
environments – including Northrop Grumman Corporation, Microwave Laboratories, and Varian
Associates. He founded and presently serves as the chair of Information Resources, Inc.’s
Analytics Advisory Board.
Arvid has published and spoken extensively in the areas of quantitative analysis, microwave
materials processing and electron devices, and advanced manufacturing practices; he holds several
U.S. and foreign patents. His teaching experience includes over six years with Keller Graduate
School of Management, where he was a senior faculty member.
Arvid and his family live in the far, far, far southwestern suburbs.
