Wenlian’s research interests include corporate governance, banking, and mergers and acquisitions. She has presented her research at various academic conferences. Her teaching interests focus on corporate finance, investments, and international finance. She had worked for China Construction Bank as a loan officer for two years in China.

Wenlian and her husband Xiaohang live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her hobbies include travel, bicycling, reading and swimming.
