“I chose to study economics because the theories and models
developed by economists are useful for studying not only the economy, but also a surprising variety
of social, ethical, and environmental questions. Economics is the study of how people make
decisions, and the more we can understand about how people make decisions, the more we can
understand about governments, markets, policies, and institutions of all kinds. Every student, no
matter his or her background or interests, will learn something interesting, useful, and important
in an economics class.”
- Kathleen Odell
