History:
Founded in 1901 as St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Moved to River Forest, Illinois in 1922 and renamed Rosary College. Became Dominican University in 1997.

Campus:
Thirty-acre main campus is in River Forest, a residential suburb located 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. Classes are also offered at the Dominican Priory campus in River Forest as well as other sites in the Chicago area, in eastern Europe and on-line.

Enrollment (Fall 2010):
3,748 Total Students: 61% full-time, 39% part-time;
1,939 Undergraduate Students: 91% full-time, 9% part-time;
1,809 Graduate Students: 28% full-time, 72% part-time.

Library:
The Rebecca Crown Library is a campus destination for student research and reflection; at approximately 250,000 volumes, the collection is large for the size of the student body. The library subscribes to more than 150 electronic databases with access to over 30,000 unique full-text periodicals, and provides a federated search product, WebFeat, that allows simultaneous keyword searching across all of its databases. The library is a partial depository for U.S. government publications and maintains special collections and archival materials. The Media Center houses audiovisual materials and viewing facilities. In addition, 60 student computers are available on four floors.

Undergraduate Programs:
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees with over 50 majors as well as several professional and pre-professional programs and an accelerated program in organizational leadership.

Graduate Programs:
More than 30 degree programs in Business, Education, Library and Information Science, Organizational Leadership, and Social Work.

Part-Time: 253 (Illinois locations only),
Student/Faculty Ratio: 12 to 1.

Tuition (2011-2012):
Undergraduate: $26,460 full-time ($882 per credit hour part-time)
Graduate: $616 to $840 per credit hour, depending on program.
Room and Board: $8,270 to $9,300 (double and meal plan with flex dollars).

Financial Aid:
98% of all freshmen receive some form of financial aid with an average Dominican University scholarship/grant award of $12,371. The average total award, including institutional scholarship/grants, federal grants, state grants and student loans is $17,570.

Recognition:
Ranked by U.S. News and World Report in the top tier (#19) of all Midwestern Master's Universities. Also cited as a high quality, low cost institution in the “Great Schools, Great Prices” section of the U.S. News rankings.
